Creating Balance Biography

Cheryl Perkins

Cheryl Perkins is a holistic nutrition consultant and professional organizer in Southern California's beach cities and the Los Angeles surrounding areas. In short, a wellness coach!

What did she do before? Cheryl was a court reporter for 15 years, reporting mostly medical malpractice, business litigation, and expert witness testimony. Funny how one thing leads to another. Her organizing skills in the court reporting profession led her to professional organizing, and she then discovered that "a very common thread, in the past and presently, seems to be, from early on,

that most of my organizing clients when disorganized in their home are disorganized in health, fitness, and nutrition." Organizing, consequently, led her to another life-long passion, which is holistic nutrition.

Early on, Cheryl saw that there was oftentimes a missing link in people’s dietary habits and discovered it was really a result of "putting the cart before the horse," i.e., people trying to address their dietary habits first but instead needing to address the clutter and disorganization in their home, and of course in their kitchen, before addressing their dietary habits.

Cheryl, having seen firsthand the adverse effects a disorganized lifestyle can have on one's health, decided to pursue four years of school to get a degree in holistic nutrition. With this knowledge, she coaches her clients in the areas of nutrition, health and fitness and how these areas are dramatically affected by disorganization in the home.

Creating Balance is committed to transforming a space that enhances ALL of the areas of life instead of hindering or holding them back. "It's very rewarding to know that the client's feeling of overwhelm begins to shift to a sense of clearing or an opening that can lead to new possibilities in their life."

It's important to love our home environment and feel peaceful in it. Our homes should feel like a sanctuary in order to go out into the world and have the rest of life work." An example of this would be if your kitchen is organized, you are much more inclined to reach for healthy food items versus processed and refined food products, thus achieving that health and well-being we all desire.

Cheryl Perkins graduated from Hawthorn University in September, 2010 as a holistic nutrition consultant.
